Our group has developed a mild and efficient method of producing helically chiral nanographenes. These organic materials are stable and display interesting circularly polarized luminescent properties.

We are interested in developing novel and efficient bottom-up approaches for the synthesis of various nanographene structures to graphene nanoribbons. We explore the properties of these fascinating materials in our laboratories and through national and international collaborations. Some of the applications of these molecules include nonlinear optics (NLO), thin-film transistors (TFTs), organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), synthetic receptors, spintronics, battery applications, and molecular switches.
